The Hungarian Grand Prix is fast approaching — and Alex will be taking plenty of positivity into the season’s 13th race.
AA23 is coming off the back of an impressive P9 finish at Silverstone earlier this month, so should be confident of making an impact in Mogyoród.
He has certainly enjoyed successful visits to the Hungaroring in the past.
A fifth-place finish was achieved back in 2020 when driving for Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, having already recorded P10 with Red Bull Toro Rosso Honda the previous year.
And Alex only just missed out on the points last term, when he placed 11th during his second Hungarian Grand Prix with Williams Racing.
But driving in Mogyoród will present plenty of challenges, thanks to the typically scorching summer weather and the track’s demanding nature.
The Hungaroring is 4.381 km (2.722 miles) in length with 14 slow to medium corners and few overtaking opportunities — making a good qualifying performance particularly important.
Sector 1 offers the best chance to pass, specifically the braking zone into Turn 1 and the long left-hand Turn 3.
In contrast, Sector 2 is more about single-file turns and a slow-speed chicane, before Sector 3’s three corners are followed by a race down the pit straight.
An exciting weekend of motorsport certainly lies in store at the Hungarian Grand Prix.
