The new Formula 1 season is now two rounds old — and Alex has made a flying start to 2025.
Our Thai racer will be keen to keep up his sparkling form, of course, but April is set to present a series of testing challenges for AA23.
The month ahead features a trio of Grands Prix, in exciting and varied venues across Asia.
Here's an in-depth look at what’s on the cards for Albono over the coming weeks.

4th-6th April: Japanese Grand Prix

The month kicks off from 4th-6th April with the Japanese Grand Prix, at the iconic Suzuka International Racing Course.
Japan’s premier circuit is a favourite among drivers, and is known for its combination of high-speed corners and famed 'S' curves.
Alex was unable to finish on each of his last three visits to the venue with Atlassian Williams Racing, so will be desperate to leave his mark in Japan this time around.
He can take inspiration from a P4 placing with Red Bull Racing back in 2019, though, as well as his sublime form heading into this weekend.

11th-13th April: Bahrain Grand Prix

Just one week after Suzuka, Formula 1 moves to the Middle East for the Bahrain Grand Prix in Sakhir.
Renowned for its desert surroundings and cooler evening temperatures, this race is typically held under floodlights, giving the event a truly unique aesthetic.
The Bahrain International Circuit holds positive memories for Alex, following points finishes in three of his five outings at the track — albeit across three different racing outfits.
Albono will no doubt hope to improve on his P15 finish last year, as he takes the impressively performing FW47 for a spin in the fourth Grand Prix of 2025.

13th-15th April: Songkran

April is also a special month off the track for Alex as it marks Songkran, the traditional Thai New Year, celebrated from 13th - 15th April.
Songkran is a time of renewal, reflection, and nationwide festivities, with water fights taking place to symbolise the washing away of the past year’s misfortunes.
For many in Thailand, it is a chance to gather with family, pay respects to elders and embrace the joy and energy of a new year.

18th-20th April: Saudi Arabian Grand Prix

The final race in April takes place at the Jeddah Street Circuit in Saudi Arabia.
As one of the newest additions to the Formula 1 calendar, Jeddah boasts the fastest street circuit layout, with drivers navigating a series of high-speed corners along the Red Sea coastline.
The track's narrow confines and close barriers leave little room for error, and Albono will need to be fully focused to avoid any mishaps.
Alex perhaps hasn’t been blessed with good luck in his three outings in Saudi Arabia so far, but that won’t knock his confidence as he looks to strengthen Williams’ position in the Constructor Championship table by finishing April in style.
Saudi Arabia is the final stop in the Middle East for now, before AA23 turns his attention towards Miami and a tour around Europe in May.
