Alex will be looking to bounce back from disappointment in Las Vegas when he heads to Qatar this weekend.
AA23 put in an impressive display to climb into the points from a P18 start on Saturday, only to see his progress halted by a power unit failure.
He’ll be hoping for greater fortune next time out, then, as the campaign reaches its penultimate round.
The Qatar Grand Prix is a relatively new addition to the Formula 1 calendar — this year will be the race’s third edition, having first been held in 2021.
And Albono is visiting the Middle Eastern nation for only the second time in his career, following a P13 finish last season.
That trip was notable for our Thai racer’s eye-catching Sprint performance, when he progressed from P17 to P7 to claim two points for Williams Racing.
Another similar outcome would be desirable this weekend, of course, but the Lusail International Circuit presents a unique set of challenges for Alex to navigate.
The track’s flowing layout contains a mix of technical turns (16 in total) and flat-out straights, with a variety of different corners that are sure to test both drivers and cars on Sunday.
Spanning 5.419 km (3.367 miles), a lap of the circuit will kick off with a long straight leading into a number of high-speed corners in Sector 1, before a Sector 2 that contains a combination of more testing low-speed turns.
High-speed corners return in Sector 3, though, before things conclude by returning to the venue’s main straight.
Expect plenty of excitement when the action gets under way at the Lusail International Circuit in Round 23.
