Alex's latest Fan Passport stamp is ready to download — and this weekend's edition incorporates another unique design.
The Singapore stamp prominently features a stylised depiction of the Merlion, an iconic symbol of Singapore.
The Merlion, with the head of a lion and the body of a fish, represents the city-state's maritime origins and its name, which means "Lion City."
In this playful version, the Merlion is given a cartoonish, cheerful expression, with large eyes and soft lines that make it look friendly and approachable.
The purple colour palette is particularly striking, as it is not a typical choice for Merlion imagery, which is usually shown in white or blue.
Purple can symbolise creativity, luxury, or even mystery, adding a sense of modernity or sophistication to the stamp.
The Merlion, often seen as a mascot of the nation, reflects national pride, and incorporating it in a playful manner speaks to Singapore’s blend of tradition and modernity.
The Singapore Grand Prix, known for being one of the few night races in the Formula 1 calendar, is held on the Marina Bay Street Circuit, adding further layers of excitement and vibrancy to the design’s context.
