Alex will be hoping to put points on the board at the Italian Grand Prix, after a challenging weekend in Zandvoort.
AA23 initially qualified in P8 at the Dutch GP, but a technical infringement meant he had to start from the back of the grid.
Though Albono commendably climbed to P14 in Sunday’s race, it wasn’t the point-scoring return to action that he would have hoped for.
The Italian GP could offer an ideal opportunity to bounce back, however, with Alex previously enjoying success in Lombardy.
He secured a P6 finish during his maiden Formula 1 campaign with Red Bull Racing back in 2019, before coming seventh in Williams’ FW45 last year.
But there are few venues that display the raw speed of modern Formula 1 machinery than the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, which is the fastest circuit in F1.
Known as the ‘Temple of Speed’, it has long straights, high-speed corners and a minimal downforce setup, making it a significant test of power.
The heritage track stretches across 5.793 km (3.600 miles) and includes 11 turns.
Starting with the Rettifilo chicane’s heavy braking zone and the Curva Grande, Alex will progress towards Sector 2’s Roggia chicane and Lesmo corners.
That will be followed by the high-speed Variante Ascari in Sector 3, before a lap concludes with the iconic Parabolica and an opportunity to progress through the order on the main straight.
A scintillating weekend is undoubtedly in store when the 2024 Italian Grand Prix gets under way, with every chance that it could be a memorable one for Albono.
