We're revisiting Alex's trip to Shanghai in Round 5 of the season, with the launch of his Chinese Grand Prix stamp.
Albono's latest stamp prominently features a panda — one of the most iconic and beloved symbols of China — representing peace, friendship and cultural heritage.
The panda is illustrated in a cute, minimalist style, with round shapes and soft lines, conveying a playful and approachable feel.
It is depicted holding a traditional Chinese dumpling, or "baozi," a staple food in Chinese cuisine, symbolising warmth, comfort, and the cultural importance of food in China.
The charming aesthetic of the stamp creates an immediately recognisable connection to Chinese traditions, blending the country’s rich cultural heritage with an inviting, contemporary design.
The use of neutral tones, such as the black and white of the panda, adds to the design's simplicity, while drawing attention to the familiar and beloved image of China’s national treasure.
Just as the panda is a symbol of harmony and goodwill, the inclusion of the animal on the stamp might also suggest China’s desire to create a welcoming and harmonious environment for international visitors and athletes.
