Alex has enjoyed a number of past successes in Belgium — and he’ll be targeting more of the same this weekend. His first points at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps came all the way back in 2014, when he secured fourth place while driving for KTR in Formula Renault 2.0 Euro. The following year then saw a similarly fruitful trip to the Ardennes Forest, thanks to a P3 finish after stepping up to Formula 3 with Signature. Consecutive top-ten finishes during the 2016 GP Series extended Alex’s commendable record in Spa, before he made his mark there at Formula 2 level in 2018 — placing P5 and P3 under the DAMS banner. But AA23’s best memory from Belgium is likely to be of his first time driving for Red Bull Racing in Formula 1. He made an immediate impact after switching over from Toro Rosso midway through the 2019 campaign, claiming P5 at one of the sport’s most iconic venues. Albono has since finished P6 in the 2020 edition, as well as P10 during his first season with Williams Racing in 2022. With such an eye-catching set of results at the Belgian Grand Prix, Alex will certainly be optimistic about taking home more points from his upcoming visit to Spa.
