That's the final 12 minutes of Qualifying underway. Alex is already on track.

A tenth separated Albono from a Q2 exit. The only cars faster than him are the Mclarens, Mercedes, Red Bulls, and Ferraris. He's doing well!

PIT: Okay, we're through. ALEX: YES!!!

Alex's time is a 1:20.314! He's through! In P9! A fist punch in the cockpit shows his delight!

The wait is over. Alex hits the tarmac.

Alex is holding in the garage while others go for their lap. On-screen graphics suggest the cut-off time will be a 1:20.2 +/- 0.2s. Alex has a 1:20.460...

That's a 1:20.460. It might be tight to reach Q3, but Alex is right in the fight.

Alex waits for a gap to go out after others have begun their fast laps.

Time to aim for the top 10 positions.

Q2 will start at 16:29 local time. That's two minutes away. The marshalls were clearing gravel from the track.

Alex's last attempt is a 1:21.089, which is another solid effort. That's on used tyres, too. He remains P8 and, encouragingly, the other Williams is in P9.

Six minutes remain and Alex is heading out again for the final time. A used set of softs are equipped for this last FP3 run.

That wasn't the longest stint for Alex, who returns back to the pit lane.

Alex didn't beat his last effort, now sitting P5. That last lap was a 1:20.886, which would have him P8.

Alex drives through the pit lane without stopping as he keeps ticking up the laps for data gathering.

Welcome to Quali day at Monza! Alex looked to have some decent pace yesterday. Let's see if he can make it to Q3 again today.
