Alex is out of the car after locking his brakes into Turn 1. "I'm OK," he says on the radio. He's in P2 on the timing tower, but the session will resume soon.

A huge accident at Turn 2 for Alex. There is a red flag.

ALEX: It's a bit drier than before. PIT: Yeah, copy that, Alex. PIT: These tyres are a little bit lower than the last set coming out of the garage, so take it a little bit longer for the temperatures to come up.

One minute.

It's a seven-minute dash to the chequered flag. Alex is in the pit lane ready to go...

Fernando Alonso spins into the barriers to end the session. Alex is P2... If the rain gets any heavier now, he'll start from the front row.

Wow! Alex gets to 1:24.657 and P2! A red flag flies shortly after...

A verrrrry wide moment for Alex there at Turn 4, but he escapes any contact or damage and can continue.

Ten seconds to go and we're happy with our plan for the session.

Q3 will begin in three minutes. Alex has jumped into the pit lane.

Alex makes it to another Q3!

Alex gets a 1:25.889 and he's back into P5! And there's a red flag!

Alex sets PB sectors and gets to P5 with a 1:26.806. Others also improve, though...

Time to get more laps in. Alex remains on the Inters.

Alex is the third car in the queue. Three minutes until the green flag.

Carlos Sainz is in the barriers at Turn 2. It's another red flag. Alex is P13 with 5 minutes and 51 seconds to go.

Low tyre temperatures see Alex run straight over the Turn 1-2 chicane. He'll push again to set a better lap.

Alex switches to the Inters.

ALEX: You've got to help me in Turn 4. I can't do that corner. ALEX: It's incredibly bad. It's locking all fours or what? Rears? Fronts? PIT: Okay, copy. It's front locking, so we'll have a look. PIT: Piastri is going to Inters. He's the quickest car on track, so we're thinking about stopping this lap.

Alex sets a 1:29.916. It has him in P12, but he keeps sliding down the order.

The track may be heading towards Inters, so we'll be ready for that.

Alex will get going in a few minutes for the start of Q2.

Alex is in P1! He sets a 1:29.072 to be the fastest man on track!

We've got two minutes to go so we can have time for one more time lap.

Much faster from Alex! He's into P7 after putting in a 1:30.441.

The circuit is wetter, but the rain should ease off shortly. Alex is pushing to get a faster lap in.

We are back underway!

Alex is P16 in the red flag stoppage. There are 8 minutes and 50 seconds left on the clock. The rain has got heavier, though.

Franco Colapinto has crashed out at Turn 3 to trigger a red flag. Alex had just dropped to P16...

Alex runs deep at Turn 1 and has to take to the run off to miss Turn 2. He has no damage and is continuing. Albono is P14 on the timesheets from that first effort still.

Alex has a 1:32.456! He's P3 in the standings. There are yellow flags repeatedly littering the circuit.

The spray is significant, but Alex is the first driver pushing and has no cars on a hot lap ahead of him.

Thirty seconds. Start firing up.

Alex is the first driver in the queue. He'll be the first driver to set a lap today.

We have fans in the grandstands and drivers in cars. Q1 should be coming up in five minutes.

The session is scheduled to start in 10 minutes. However, the weather is much like it was yesterday with the repeated delays, so we might not see Alex out there anytime soon...

Welcome to São Paulo for a busy day! Yesterday's postponed Qualifying is coming up in 30 minutes. And we have the São Paulo Grand Prix a little later, scheduled for 90 minutes earlier than originally billed at 12:30 PM local time. Get set for a Super Sunday.

We will not have any more running today. Alex will have his Qualifying session tomorrow.

There is another message from race control... The estimated start time is 17:00... 30 minutes away.

Alex is smiling through these showers!

Another 15-minute delay means the estimated start time is now 16:15 local time. Alex will be ready for action whenever this session begins!

The FIA have said the "estimated" start time for Qualifying is 16:00. That's in 30 minutes. It's stopped raining, too, so get set to for Q1!

There's no start time for Q1 just yet. Race control have said the next update will be in 20 minutes.

The heavy rain has delayed the start of Qualifying. It's soaking out there.

He might wish he had an umbrella, but Alex is getting ready for Q1

The weather has changed quite a lot since the Sprint race... It's going to be a very wet Qualifying!

Q1 will start in a little over two hours. We will be back to bring you everything Alex through Qualifying then.

There's a VSC out there and it might remain until the chequered flag...

There's a yellow flag on track as Hulkenberg's car remains stranded on the track. Might there be a VSC? There are three laps left.

Bye, bye, Bearman! Alex gets by the Haas out of Turn 4, and Hulkenberg has slowed. He's into P10!

PIT: Okay, Bearman ahead is really struggling with degradation, so go get him. ALEX: I know, I know!

That's 10 laps remaining. Ten laps.

DRS range! Alex is only six-tenths from Hulkenberg now and keeping the Haas duo company as he looks to return to the top-10 places.

Alex is closing the gap... Perez overtook Hulkenberg, and the German driver is only 1.4s ahead as Alex looks to get into DRS range.

Happy to start to push the front axle a bit more, but continue rear management.

The other Williams is the car behind, with Perez the next car up the road. Alex is 2.6s adrift of the Red Bull, while Colapinto is 0.7 away from Albono's rear wing.

We're happy with this level of tyre management and lift and coast.

Perez uses DRS to get by into Turn 4. Alex sits in P12.

Bearman is the car ahead, Perez is just behind...

Alex attacked in the opening corners, with Lawson and the two Haas drivers getting better from their tyres on the first lap. He's in P11...

We are on the first tour of the day! Alex has medium tyres on his car...

Not long to go now. Alex is starting in P9, with two rookie drivers around him. Bearman lines up ahead in the Haas, with Lawson behind in the VCARB.

It's dry right now in the skies above Interlagos, but will it last? The forecast is showing changeable conditions and a chance of rain increasing to 60% in the coming hours.

Alex leaves the garage and heads onto the track.

SQ3 gets started, with the drivers on soft tyres at this stage.

AA23's time of 1:09.844 sees him squeeze through into SQ3 with a P10 finish.

"Box, Alex, box..." Albono heads into the pits.

The clock starts ticking as SQ2 gets under way.

Albono's final lap time comes in at 1:10.366. That moves him up to P3 and through to SQ2!

Alex takes to the Autódromo José Carlos Pace once again. There's just over two minutes left on the clock.

Alex records his best time of the session with just over five minutes left on the clock. That time of 1:10.955 is good enough for P3 at the moment.

Albono rolls back onto the track, as he prepares for another stint at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace. He's now on a set of soft tyres.

AA23 makes a trip to the garage once again.

"Box, Alex, box, practice pit entry. We'll do a pit loss, so we'll stop on the marks and then we'll go again..."

Alex is in the midst of a long run, as he gathers data for the team.

Alex ventures back out. He’s still on the same medium tyres.

Albono is called into the garage.

It's another best time for AA23. His last lap came in at 1:12.373.

"I think we've got time for one more push lap here. So we'll do a double cool and then do one more push lap..."

Alex’s previous lap was his best yet, at 1:12.490. That moves him into P4.

"We'll be pushing the next lap..."

Albono records a new best lap time of 1:13.014, putting him in P7 as things stand.

Alex’s first lap time comes in at 1:57.557.
