Albono ends Mexico City Quali with a P9 effort! Great lap, Albono

Alex gets a 1:17.065 in on his second lap! Faster than his first attempt...

Gap at 6.5 is good. Go push. Go push.

Alex pushes on and gets a 1:17.338 as his opening Q3 lap. That's enough for P7 after everyone else sets their times.

Alex is ready to get going as soon as Q3 gets going.

The Tsunoda crash has caused a red flag and the start of Q3 will be delayed.

Yuki Tsunoda crashes in the last moments of Q2 and Alex gets through to the top-10 shootout in P7! The VCARB driver is okay after his incident.

Albono is one of just five drivers to go under the 1:17 barrier. His 1:16.988 has him in P5 with two minutes remaining.

As others return to the pits, Alex goes for another run. He's P7 as it stands...

Alex's first 1:17.0 to start this part of Qualifying. He puts in a 1:17.090 as his opening Q2 lap. Let's see where that lands him.

Alex is the first car on the track as Q2 begins.

Alex reaches the second session of Qualifying. P9 was Albono's final Q1 position with his 1:17.189.

That's a 1:17.189 for Alex! He's up to P5 and looks like he'll be in Q2!

Time for another attempt. Alex is now P12 as the session comes to the final minutes.

One run on the softs complete for Alex. He's now in P7 as others put their attempts in.

Alex comes in with a 1:17.563. That put him into P3 as he crossed the line.

The power unit of car No23 revs up and Alex leaves the garage for his first Quali lap.

Q1 begins!

That's Q1 almost ready to go. Time to put the learnings from earlier to the test. Alex is ready to get going. We wait for the lights to go green.

What a spot to watch F1 from! There's nowhere else Alex gets this view at.

That's all the the Free Practice at Mexico City complete. Alex will return in just under two-and-a-half hours when Q1 begins.

Okay, let's practise the pit entry.

Alex puts in a 1:17.905, four tenths off his previous best. It'd put him P15, even with scrubbed tyres, but he's P10 after the earlier time. He's going to box this lap to swap to medium tyres.

Albono is set for more laps with the same soft tyres he just used.

Stop in box, engine off.

That's a 1:17.511 on Albono's first soft tyre push lap. An encouraging single-lap time as we reach the final 15 minutes.

The red-ringed rubber is on Alex's car as he goes out again.

Alex returns to the pit lane after nine laps of medium running.

Alex slows down in the third sector after yellow flags interrupt his latest effort.

Alex is running the medium tyres around the track for many laps. He set a 1:18.651 on his last push lap and is touring again to come back around for another attempt.

We've got reeeeeally weird balance.

Alex gets his first Saturday time on the board. A 1:18.888 puts him P13 in these early stages.

Car No23 heads out for the first time today. Albono has mediums equipped.

Alex must be feeling confident as he's remaining inside the garage in these opening 10 minutes. The lack of running yesterday had many suggesting he'd need to make up for lost time, but there's no FW46 activity just yet.

That's the green light illuminated at the end of the pit lane.

Alex and Lily had plenty of attention when they arrived to the track earlier today

Welcome to Saturday from Mexico City. It's Quali day, but there are 60 minutes of Free Practice to contend with first. Alex didn't get much running out there yesterday, so this upcoming hour is vital.

That's FP2 complete. Alex could not join the session after the damage sustained in FP2. He'll be back for FP3 tomorrow when he'll hone his setup for Qualifying.

45 minutes of the session is complete and 45 minutes remain. Alex hasn't had any laps yet, but the team shared a statement stating they hope to have him on track in FP2 after missing the first minutes.

A long-lasting red flag kept the drivers in the pit lane for over 20 minutes. The session resumes, although Alex remains in the Williams Racing garage.

The loss of running in FP2 for Alex is slightly reduced by a crash for George Russell that triggers a red flag stoppage. Williams' mechanics are hard at work to repair the FW46.

The Williams Racing team continue working on Alex's car after the crash in FP1. He'll look to head out later in this session.

Are you set for FP2? A 90-minute session awaits!

That wasn't how anyone wanted FP1 to go. A 90-minute FP2 session is set to begin later today, though. Join us here in two hours where we will guide you through Alex's second Mexico City run of the day.

The stewards announce that the Alex and Bearman incident will be investigated after FP1.

Ollie Bearman slowed down at the exit of Turn 9 as Alex approached. The compromised exit has Alex hitting the Ferrari as he loses control. "Idiot!" was the frank assessment from Albono.

I'm okay.

Alex and Ollie Bearman get in the way of each other. The FW46 is in the wall and out of the session.

It's early in the session but Alex puts in a 1:19.812 to go to the top of the timesheets!

Alex's opening lap is a 1:21.677. There's yellow flow-vis on his front right wheel as the Williams Racing team assess the aerodynamics on the car.

Go switch to go out. Go push.

The session resumes with 50 minutes and Alex ventures onto the circuit with hard tyres.
