That's the race complete! Alex takes a two-stop strategy to gain a bunch of places to finish in P14!

And he's done it! An overspeed down into Turn 1, where Alex forces the Alpine to defend, and it's a pass around the outside. P14 for Albono.

That's Alex finally on the rear wing of Ocon. The Frenchman lets Perez past, but Alex is going to fight next.

Okay, Ocon will take the blue flag from Perez on the next lap. We'll have push and hold available every lap until the end.

Alex is matching Perez's pace. The Red Bull driver is P6, and Alex is retaining DRS to extend the gap to those behind and close in on Ocon in P14.

You're about a second quicker than Ocon and he has to take two blue flags.

Magnussen ahead didn't last long! With Perez triggering blue flags, Alex took advantage and overtook the Haas into Turn 1.

Alex gets a set of mediums. He's down to P18 and is now chasing Magnussen.

OK, Alex, box this lap.

Alex is running P14 without anyone around him. Ricciardo is 4.7s ahead and Ocon is 7.3s behind. The team are waiting to pit him once blue flags and the pit window work out.

Ricciardo surges by on 17-lap fresher tyres. Alex is now P14.

The fresh Pirellis on other cars have helped them pass Alex on track. He's dropped behind the Aston Martin duo and is P13, with Ricciardo 0.5s behind.

A crazy few corners there. Magnussen backed Albon up, but Alex fought past the Haas out of the final corner. Three cars followed, though, and Gasly used DRS to get by into T1 on the fresher tyres.

Magnussen is within DRS range in P10. Alex is closing in and fast! Come on Albono!

Pit stops are starting to drop Alex's rivals behind. Tsunoda dives in for a change of tyres, and now Albono is P11. Magnussen ahead is running hards and needs to stop — he's 4.2s in front.

Ricciardo pits and Alex is now P16. Tsunoda is right ahead of him, benefitting from DRS of Ocon, who just peeled into the pits. Alex is ready to fight the RB driver.

OK, let's go. Mode 7. Mode 7. You're half a second quicker than Tsunoda ahead.

Radio messages explain that Tsunoda is two seconds ahead in P15. The Japanese driver went from softs to medium, so he will have to stop again.

Alex has noted some issues with the car down the straights. He and the team are looking to resolve them over the radio. P18, for the moment.

Okay, we've now undercut everybody up to Stroll in P11.

Those hard tyres for Alex have given him the Fastest Lap! The pace is with him and he's undercut Bottas. P19 for the moment...

Mediums to hards for Alex. He's the first driver to pit on Lap 13. Lots of clean air ahead of him now.

Albono has a fighting spirit today. He is on the tail of Ocon and keeps making use of the DRS down the pit straight to get alongside. Surely it's only a matter of time...?

Alex pulls alongside Ocon for P16 at Turn 1 but he can't get by on the outside of the opening corner. He's pushing hard!

ALEX: We're just slow in the wrong places and fast in the wrong places. PIT: Copy. Let's see what we can do.

Alex in P17 has Ocon right ahead of him but can't find a way past the Alpine yet. Sargeant is behind. A DRS train is forming...

Alex's Dutch GP is underway!

Tyres have just come through. So, Magnussen in the pitlane is starting on new hards. Then, on the grid, everyone is on new mediums apart from Tsunoda in P11, Hamilton in P14, Bottas in P16 – they're on new softs.

We're nearly there! The sun is peeking through the clouds in the blustery conditions. Alex will be setting off shortly.

Alex's Q3 efforts ended in heartbreak yesterday. A disqualification for technical infringements means he's starting the race from last place today.

Alex sets a 1:10.653! He'll start alongside Fernando Alonso on the fourth row tomorrow.

Alex exits the garage for his Q3 attempt.

Alex is one of four drivers not to set a banker lap in Q3's opening minutes. Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll, Sergio Perez, and Albono don't have times on the board.

Time for the top-10 shootout. Alex is among today's best half. Where will he qualify?

It's a 1:11.860 for Alex. That's P11 for now. He'll need another attempt with fresh rubber if he wants to reach Q3.

ALEX: It's getting quite dark. PIT: Yeah, understood that on the weather, Alex. PIT: We see nothing on the radar.

That's a better lap for Alex! He sets a 1:11.503 with a purple final sector...

Alex returns to the Zandvoort Circuit with a little under three minutes remaining on a fresh set of Pirelli soft tyres.

A few moments of oversteer has Alex setting a lap one-tenth slower than his best. He's consistent times have him in the upper positions still. Albono is P6 with eight minutes remaining.

In and out of the pit lane for car #23. More laps to come for Albono.

That's a 1:11.854 for Albono! He hits P1, briefly, with that effort, and currently sits P3 with 13 drivers having set a lap.

It's time for the first competitive laps of the weekend. Alex is running the red-ringed soft tyre.

That's the first part of Quali beginning under the sunshine. A 40% chance of rain in the coming hour means we'll probably see a lot of on-track activity to beat any drizzle.

The sun has come out since FP3's conclusion. It's a vastly different scene from this morning's rain and Alex will enjoy dry running when Q1 begins.

Alex doesn't make it around the circuit in time to go for a proper push lap. He's one of those to take the chequered flag, but he still gets some additional mileage even though he doesn't set a faster lap.

One flying lap for Alex looks possible...

A message saying that the green light will come on at 12:25 local time. That turned into 12:27. There's not much time for any representative laps today.

The barrier repairs continue as Alex waits for the session to resume.

A crash for Logan Sargeant means the session has stopped. The other Williams car was aflame on the circuit, but Sargeant is okay.

It's taken 15 minutes and Alex has headed out on Inters. He sets a 1:24.007 for his first lap to get into P5!

It's an empty pit lane as FP3 gets set to go. The damp conditions are putting the drivers off in these early minutes.

The conditions are as challenging as they were yesterday. Alex was in fine Friday form. We'll see if that translates to a super Saturday soon.

Hello from Zandvoort where Alex will face his first competitive session of the weekend! First up, though, is FP3, where he has one hour to finesse the setup. We'll take you through it all here.

One again AA23 improves on his previous best lap, with a time of 1:11.550.

Albono registers a time of 1.11.639, before briefly heading into the garage.

Alex is now on a fresh set of soft tyres.

FP2 resumes and Alex heads back out onto the Circuit Zandvoort…

Nico Hülkenberg goes into the wall at Turn 1 and the session is temporarily paused.

AA23 is recalled to the garage.

Alex climbs to P4 with a lap time of 1:12.549.

It’s a new best time for FP2, with Alex’s last lap of 1:13.180.

Albono kicks off the second session of the day with a time of 1:14.162.

The weather has improved significantly ahead of today's second session and it's currently dry in Zandvoort.
